On my '94 Disco I, 3.9L v8, which I recently purchased, all my U-joints and slip-joints have grease nipples. They all, also seem fine, no play. Does this mean that they were replaced at some time? Factory did not put grease nipples on original U-joints did they?

side note, i think i'm going to grease my nipples today. maybe in the shower.

 

This is only a concern on the D2's. D1's have grease nipples from the factory.

 

Just make sure you grease both shafts at least twice a year.

 

DI's have nipples and DII's do not. Grease them every oil change.
