Yes, for the info going to the ecm it will make the cel come on.
You need to check what is needed for where you live.
I played with the exhaust and found that the cats don't slow
much down, flow or sound.
I put a Magnaflow muffler and a high flow glass pack.
(in place of the back small muffler)
The sound was nice at idle anything more and it was
a honda with a V8. Not good at all.
The other thing that I found was I did have more power
but at a higher rpm.
I could not take the noise I had the OEM pipe from the
muffler back with the OEM little muffler put on.
I had more TQ and power at a lower RPM and a good sound.
The TQ that I had unknowingly lost was back, the Hp gain was about the
same, this was all done by feel so it was noticeable.

the smaller muffler you replaced was probably a resonaor. That is critical to your exaust tone. without anything it'll drone inside the vehicle. Your best bet is to leave the resonator but put a more aggressive muffler on it. OR move the resonator forward (if it'll fit) and put a performance muffler where it was. You can also buy different resonators and what not.

If you really want true dual exhaust, (and i havne't been under mine but i've done quite a few dual exhausts) your best bet is to put a Y pipe after the last 02 sensor (normally in the CAT) and run dual 2.25 or 2" pipes to a pair of magnaflow or similar mufflers. You can probably get away from running a resonator if you run 2 good mufflers.

Normally this runs between 6-800 bucks for a custom job.

The small muffler was the resonator.
I was not sure if everyone would know that.
Yes it did drone bad.
The drive shaft is in the way on the right side,
and the gas cap is on the right rear not a good
spot for the exhaust pipe.
