Default 96 disco leaking gas

I have a 96 disco with 135k on the clock and I have owned it since 41k. Sunday I noticed gas leaking from the line running between the gas cap and the gas tank. I assume this is coming from a crack in the line. Is this a common problem with the 96 disco? Is this a simple matter of me ordering a new hoseand replacing it or is it more complex than I think? Thanks much.

call the dealer to check the recalls first. I think there was a tank related issue on this.

There is a recall but it is only for specific serial numbers.

Default RE: 96 disco leaking gas

My fuel tank was replaced but not the lines.
My 96 is (pre advanced evap system) a round charcoal canister
by the battery.
What I found on mine was the vent line, a line that is
about 3/4 inch that goes from the top of the fuel tank to
the gas cap assembly.
This maybe the problem.
If it is, this is what I did.
I found that I could not get to the clamp on the top of the tank and mine was leaking next to the gas cap assembly.
I pulled the hose off and cut a 1/2 off and went to the auto parts
store. Make sure you get gas line then off the Home Depot for
a brass two way fitting and spliced it in.
When I have to drop the tank I will put in a new line.
Its worked for 9 mo's I made sure that the brass fitting was supported by the small brace.(you will see what I'm talking about)
Hope it helps.
