Default 96 disco several problems

Hello all,
Just bought a 96 disco, it has alot of issues. I have built/fixed several cars, trucks, hot rods in my life but have never worked on a disco. Maybe you could help me out. I have a manual coming for it.

1. rear windows, dome light, rear ac controls, and wiper does not work, no power. BUT the little light by the back door, sunroof, and the rear washer works. No power at the rear switches at door or center control.

2. cannot remove ignition key, unless you unplug it from the harness. Shifter is tight, brake lights work.

3. 4.0 engine has 2 blown head gaskets and looking to swap in a 4.6. What does it take?

Other than that the truck's in great shape! lol Alot of little cosmetic stuff, but got it for a song and dance. Thanks all!

Update on key problem. I found the solenoid on the front of the ignition is not allowing me to remove the key. Disconnected, it works fine. Can I leave this disconnected with no other problems?

The swap to a 4.6 is pretty straight forward.I think that is you search for it on here you will find how to do it.
As far as the other problems, did you check al the fuses? Other than the switches themselves being bad, I do not know.
But I am sure that someone else does.

I just looked in the manual. There are A/C relays in the rear back by the Rear AC unit it looks like. There's also a diode as part of the control. There is a relay for the rear wiper behind the lower drivers footwell panel shown as relay K183. It's dark colored, looks like the middle one in a bank of 5 relays. There are a bunch of relays in these vehicles and on mine, I have a radio amplifier relay that crapped out. For the motor, I'd think replacing the H/G's would be the easiest path, but it's up to you.
