'98 Disco, dosen't run for $1000
#3
500 sounds good to me. i really want to get a disco ii but cant afford it yet. ive done things like swapping transmissons and transfdr cases and installing fuel pumps before, but never any actual engine work. if i knew for sure what theproblem was and for sure i could get it running, 1000 would be fair i think. but not knowing and taking the gamble i might not be able to fix it....500 is what id be willing tio gamble.

Yes, make sure that you know what you're getting, or are willing to gamble it for $500. My '03 turned over but wouldn't fire or anything. I took a gamble b/c it looked like the timing chain was broken. It was--but there was a reason it was snapped, they drove it without antifreeze until the heads melted. The shop found my piston rings in the oil pan LOL. So if you are able to see it before you buy it, check the antifreeze levels, and if the timing chain is still in tact.
