RE: ABS WHEEL SENSER
How hard it is is all relavent to your skill, they are hard wired right to the ABS ECU.
www.atlanticbritish.comsells them.
Not something that I would do, but you might feel comfortable doing it.

If the rubbing and or clicking noise is not coming from your pads, then it will most likely be the hub, which can be having a bearing failure.
If that is the case, the best place on line for a new hub, which also comes with a new ABS sensor, is Rover Connection, $370 ish for an after market and about $80 more for a Rover OEM.

Great subject on a Disco. Maybe Disco Mike can shed some light on this situation that I am dealing with, on the 2000 SD (78 K Miles).
The hill decent, ABS and traction lights came on at the same time after going over a very hard step.
Took it to the dealer to get the ABS modulator valve covers recall done and they informed me that I have a code for left front harness and a code for rough terrain, if I recall right, in the slabs ECU.
Checked harness for continuity / short / open, from ECU pins to sensor connection on the inner fender well. Checks are OK.
Checked resistance on the ABS sensor left and right front. The reading is 1015 ohms for both.
Checked the hub, it is good.
Any ideas.

I don't think my 1972 Toyota Land Cruiser had ABS sensors. In fact I think to stop the vehicle I used to push very hard on the break with the right foot while using my left heel on the ground outside the open driver's door!
I wish LR would just come out with a fix, maybe a fix for sensors that just are ill designed. My 3 amigos turn on every now and then, no break dust, no sqeaking and I have great breaking. Every time I turn off the engine the lights do not come back on when I start it up again for days, weeks or months. My fix is a restart and without the lights staying on I don't think a tec could read anything on the computer but I might be wrong. Mike probably will let me/us know if that is right but I don't know if it is stored in the MASTER COMPUTER named HAL I think!
think 2001 A Space Odyesy! Daisy Daisy....
