Default accidently drained tranny fluid

I was going to change my oil and was a little confused about which was the sump in owners manual it looked like the tranny and the haynes manaul confused me so I accidently drained tranny fluid made me nervous so I put the fluid back in and stared up fine shifted fine do you think she will be okay?Finally got to oil change used valvoline 20w50 and k&n filter with bottle of restore and man did I feel a difference in that truck restore is some pretty good stuff.I called landrover houston both locations and landrover north Houston wanted 119.95 for oil change yea right forget about it they use 5w30 kendall all I want is to take my truck another 100,000 miles so please any info will be good about the tranny.[:@]

Were you able to get ALL of the fluid back into the tranny? Did you slowly shift through each gear and continue to fill? If so you should be ok, but I'd be worried if you have extra ATF sitting around.

Yes I was able to get all fluid back in and is topped off.

Cool. Yeah $120 is insane for an oil change. Using 6 qts. of Mobil1 and a K&N 3001 filter, the cost is about half of what you were quoted.

I would chaneg the tranny fluid, it picked up dirt and stuff from your drain pan.
6? quarts I think it takes, Dexron III.

The D2 manual calls for Dexron IID, and what I was told while talking to Tony this morning. It's time to get my ATF and filter replaced before my Mojave Road trip at the end of the month.

No problem, Spike. I figured the Dexron III is for the D1, and the OP didn't list which model he has.

the drain pan was brand new sorry guys I have a 96 se so dexron III it is.
