Default ACE problem

99 Disco II. My ACE pump is leaking pretty badly from the shaft seal. I have done a fluid replacement with the Lucas additive with no improvement except for a reduction in noise. I would really like to avoid having to shell out 500.00 for a new pump. Is there a seal kit out there so that I could fix it, or someone who re-builds them?
Thanks - Bill

Call your local dealers parts dept to see if there is a reseal kit available.
If not then consider going to, http://www.roverlandparts.com/ and buying a good guaranteed used ACE pump.
If you open up the system, make sure to not allow any more fluid then possible to drain out. If it drains to low, you will need to take it to the dealer and have him hook up their test book to purge the system after the pump replacement, BIG $$$'s.

Thanks for the info. My wife would like to keep the ACE for now. Mike, I read your reply on the other forum. Obviously, I would have to disconnect the lines to the pump to remove it. Am I not ensuring myself a trip to the dealer to purge the system?

Thanks - Bill[/align]
