Default ACE Removal

Does anyone have a link that shows the steps involved in removing ACE from a Disco II (2000). Mine is leaking at the ACE block and I decided to remove it because if anything else goes wrong with it, parts are big money. Searching "ACE" on this forum brings up no results.

Also, should I use a pulley (if so what size/type) to replace the ACE pump or just buy a new non-ace serpentine belt for a Dicovery II. I have also heard that I do not need to replace the sway bars as long as I block them up where they fill with oil but most likely will buy front and rear bars from a non ACE car.

I will be selling all of these ACE parts if anyone is interested. The seals at the block need to be replaced but block, pump and line are nice shape.

Why scrap a $1700 option cause of a leak, go buy a used block and fix it right, otherwise your Disco won't ride anything like it used to.

I've been mulling over the decision to remove this ACE or repair it for almost a month now. At 136k, and the fact that I've replaced everything else on this car, I can only assume that at some point in the future another part in the system (i.e. lines, pump, etc) will fail .....most likely when my wife is driving it. I have driven a non-ACE Discovery and the handling on the road is only slightly better with the ACE. My car is sporting OME 751Frt/762Rr with larger tires and its sees regular offroad use. Even purchasing a used block for 300 bucks will require me to bring the car in to a dealer to be properly bled, which is minimum of 3 hours of labor. I can remove the system by myself, then only have to purchase a new serpentine belt from a Disco non-ACE or pulley, then pick up some swaybars (unless I can use the existing ones.

We now make a stainless replacement ACE line kit if anyone needs to replace them in the future.
