Default After stock radio questions

Hi everyone.

researched and found some answers, but have a few more I couldn’t find.

my radio in my d2 2000 is stock.

sometimes if turns on, sometimes is does not. When it does turn on, the speakers are so bad you can barely turn it up.

my questions:

**would any basic Bluetooth aftermarket CD player work? As long as it is same size? Or do I need to buy special wires with it? Hoping to just pull out stock and plug in new one. New one is nothing fancy.

**speakers in doors. Can I just buy replacements on eBay and unplug old ones and plug-in new ones?

or I will need to re wire the entire thing to the new CD player?

thanks

Single din radios will work
metra makes a harness to wire in a new radio, they also make an adapter so the steering wheel buttons work
foeakers will need the wires spliced as the factory radio connections may not fit but a complete rewiring is prbably not necessary
be aware the two positive leads in my factory harness were reversed from the expected position in the metra harnes, keyed 12v snd battery 12 needed switched to make the radio work properly. It is pretty much plug and play if you take your time, lots if videos on youtube
if you really want to get into it
There are videos that will walk you through something like mine

If you get an Android-based unit, you don't need any special harness to make the steering wheel controls work.

Thanks!

sorry just to clarify, even if I get a cheap Bluetooth single din from Walmart,
something just a little better than stock, I need to buy special wiring to make it work for steering wheel?

or that is only in the much better car play touch screen ones?

Tried finding videos but can only find taking out a stock or putting in a really nice touch screen.

thanks.

I have a cheap single din aftermarket replacement with bluetooth. Go to crutchfield.com as they usually offer the wiring harness for free or at least very cheap. Getting the wiring harness is really worth it. I think all in my replacement was like $35 bucks, but I didn’t get the steering wheel button harness as my buttons are broken anyway.

The wiring harness is to connect the wiring. Only two of those wires are for the steering wheel buttons. And even though a harness might include connectors for the button controls, that doesn't mean the controls will work with the head unit.
All of this is well covered in the Audio/Video forum on this site,
