Default air filter

What air filter do you recommend using in a disco II? I have been using genuine parts only. however I now live in nowhere Colorado and it cost 8$ (half the price of the filter) to have it shipped here. Does anyone use a napa or K&N filter? Cheers

Just go to your local auto parts store and buy one.
DO NOT use a K&N air filter.
Advance Auto sells air filters for our trucks for $15.

I have used after market air filters, install it before you leave the parts store, if it doesn't fit exactly, which many of then don't, get a factory one, they are many times better and as Spike already mentioned, no K&N.

I picked up a Puralator for $16 from Advanced Auto, it fits perfectly and gets the job done.

Napa's filter also fits great but it is more expensive than the Purolator filter at $24. I like to throw my local Napa guys a bone once and a while so I buy my filters (oil and air) from them. Paper air filters are still the best, even Fram for the most part makes a decent air filter (well I'm not sure they actually make anything, they source a decent air filter).

And to explain why no K&N filters: K&N filters are high flow and have bigger pores. In order to trap the particles that would get past these holes the filters are oiled. This oil gets blown past the filter and fouls the MAF. Normally MAFs can just be cleaned but not our MAFs because the filament is too fine. K&N filters are only worth it because they are washable and reusable not because they increase HP (which they can a bit depending on the engine). Bottom line though they are not or our trucks.

Father,
You have been mighty quiet lately, everything going well up there in the hills?
