Default Alarm and horn

OK, I have searched through the forums for help but have not found any answers. The alarm sets with fob and and also with the key in the door as it should. The horn has never sounded upon locking the doors and setting the alarm. Today I had the hood up and locked the doors and set the alarm(no real reason) and the horn sounded. Shocked and surprised I did it again and it sounded. The horn does not sound when I lock and setunless the hood is up. Is this normal?

I've had something similar happen to me. I've heard the horn sound when one of the doorsare open when I lock the car up.

I'm guessing it has something to do with letting you know that the car's doors/hood aren't closed?

The horn is set up to honk if any of the doors or hood are not closed.

Leave a door open and try to lock them, it'll do the same thing. Always happens to me when i'm waiting for my girlfriend to get out andI lock the door tooquickly. Like Mike said, it's supposed to do that if anydoor or hood is open.
