Default Another brain buster question

I just replaced my motor and refilled the TQ. I went to top off the tranny fluid and when pulling the side filler screw flluid flowed out. Prob lost a quart until it stopped coming out. Replaced the filler screw and the truck seems to drive better but I noticed that the idle is lower than normal. Was sitting around 800 rpms but now sits around 600. Kinda sounds like its close to stalling but doesnt.

Did you remove the side filler plug with the engine running? If not, you should have. You need to fill it while it is running until it begins to flow out of the filler/drain hole, and then put the filler plug back in while it is running.

And after it was up to temperature you shifted through the gears a couple times?
