P1453
Land Rover
Leakage Detection Module failure:Signal out of range - above maximum

Make sure you didn't unplug something. I think there is a suel tank pressure sensor. Go around and make sure all of your emissions stuff is plugged in.

From doing a little more digging and referring to the Rave CD, I have 03 with positive pressure leak detection and secondary air injection system (apparently I do not have a fuel tank pressure sensor). I have traced the system and all appears to be within normal-nothing disconnected or out of place. Is there something I can do to further diagnose the problem? Can I meter any terminals to detect an electrical/sensor/pump fault? If not, I am sure I will have to take it in. I have a little time, though. I appreciate your input thus far!

Sounds stupid but how about a new gas cap. Its $10 and you can rule that out.

After reading some other posts, that is the plan. It runs well with no additional symptoms, so I will post a response later in the week.

Double check the O2 sensor connections. Mine snapped in the first time, but later on I realized they had about a 1/4 inch to go before being fully seated. Just shine a light on them and make sure they're snapped in tight.

Cheers,

Pete

Gents,

The gas cap switch kept the service light off for a couple days and returned...any clues for this postitive pressure evaporative emissions system? Are there any failure components more common than others...so many possibilities here. Any input is appreciated.

You have a clog in your EVAP system. Another guy in Florida had the same problem, he couldnt fill the gas tank very fast when the check engine light was on and he kept getting a EVAP code.
He called his dealer and he said that he has seen this before and he knew how to fix it.
The guy never posted the fix. And of course I do not remember what the name of the post was.
I guess you just need to start going back page by page and reading the thread title's. I will do the same when I get a chance, but the guy never posted the fix, but maybe you can PM him.
This is why people need to post their fix when they fix a problem, so that we can help others.

Alright, I have been having an evaporative emissions OBDII code and after crawling under the rove-dog a few times, I noticed my vent line (I think) on my gas filler/tank was leaking. How do I know, well it has what appears to be a nice high dollar quick disconnect which was of course loose (meaning probably leaking). So, I cut that disconnect out and replaced it with some brandy new 5/16" fuel injection line and clamps. I had the warning light cleared and after a couple fuel tank fills, it has not reoccured. Long story short, we may have found ANOTHER fix for the many rover/disco codes. Peace out, good luck, and turn your own wrenches![/align]

Default Still P1453

We'll, here a few months later and I still have this P1453 code which seems to stump everyone I have asked. I remain diligent and will post a fix when I find it. I am at the point of tearing down the entire fuel tank/delivery system to figure out what's going on here. L8R
