Default Another one bites the dust (totalled disco)

So I met telephone pole head on today at about 45 mph. I barely felt it (air bags did not deploy thankfully) even though both headlights and fog lights shot off the car about 15 feet. I'm glad I was in the disco and not the corolla. Anyhow I assume geico is going to total the truck. Any tips on how to get the most money out of them? I'm pretty bummed but this is probably a blessing in disguise.

I have not decided yet. If I come across a nice '04 then maybe.

You shouldn't drink and drive Glad you're OK.

Best bet to get the most from the ins co, is to push to have them total the truck. Get some expensive repair quotes to urge them to total it. Then they should cut you a check, then you can ask them to give/or sell you the Disco back so you can sell it, part it out, or keep it and do what you will with it.

45 head-on and no airbags? wow! do you have some pics of the damage i'd like to see that. If it's not in too bad condition you can buy it back for 1/4 the value and repair it.

I will get some pics it was dark when it happened. I took out sign and a couple guide wires too. I was surprised the air bags did not deploy, maybe I was going slower but I know I was doing 60 when I lost control and I was definitely going at a good speed. The front end is smashed in all the way into the engine. I have thought of buying it and fixing it up but that is too much especially if the frame is effed up.
