Default Anyone heard of a shift control linkage harness?

The previous owner said his mechanic mentioned the reason he kept getting intermittent S&M lights was a bad shift control linkage harness.

I couldn't find this in the Rave manual or through the board search. I thought I was sent on a snipe hunt, but thought you guys could enlighten me.

Yes, but "gear position switch connector" which is plausible. However first thing on the list would be the battery. If when the issue first appeared it was only present after the car had not been driven for a while (even overnight) I'd def say the battery is the most likely culprit.

The connector in question is on the side of the transmission, look for where the shift cable connects and then follow the electrical wire to the connector. Unplug it look for any signs or arcing or burnt connectors (admittedly very unlikely) spray with electronic cleaner and re-assemble.

The battery checks out and the lights' appearances haven't been specific to certain driving conditions. I'll check and clean the connector... thanks for the advice.
