Default Anyone want to 4x4 in MD this weekend?

My buddy and I are heading down to Green Ridge State Park Saturday for some 4x4'ing and camping. This is a perfect opportunity for novice off-roaders to get their tires muddy. Great place, great trails. Camping there is a blast too.

I'll be bringing the wife and the two German Shepherds along. My buddy will be going solo in his Disco'. We'll be leaving Philadelphia around 6:00am Saturday morning and will be in the mud by 9:00. Then get to the top of the mountains have a good lunch. We'll make our way back down to the Potomac and set up camp, start a fire and enjoy a good dinner.

Anyone wants to come please let me know.

A bit of info on the park...

Sounds like a great time. If I was in Philly I'd join ya! Have fun.

I'm in MD and heading to Philly this weekend...pass by you on I-95 I've been where you're headed this weekend, very cool.

If you're around Philly, there are some good offroad parks just west of there and north of harrisburg if you haven't been and are looking for places. One is Paragon, the other (and my preference) is Rausch creek 4x4 park.

We're actually going to take the PA Turnpike west and then head down 81. It's 156 miles at 2+ hours that way. If we go through Baltimore and out that way it is 230 miles and 4+ hours. Of course this is what Google maps tells us.

Do you have any links to the places in PA you speak of?

Thank you much!

Here you go:
I really like this place, had a membership there at one point when I had my Rubicon - traded it in on the Rover when I moved to B-more. If you're taking 81 you'll be right near it.

The other place is called Paragon, but rumor has it it's either closing or moving to a new area. Not as good anyway.

Thank you much. We are contemplating changing or plans to go here instead this weekend.

Sounds like fun, hopefully I'll be getting my CDL installed this weekend though... just finished getting my Detroit and TT installed and should have it back today for a soundsystem upgrade. Just waiting on back-ordered parts for the CDL. Had to replace both rear hubs, even after waiting for 5 days on an 'overnight' shipment from Car Cannibal they sent one hub with bad bearings so I'll also probably be swapping in another one next week as well.

Know any good offroading near the Gunks? (Monhonk Preserve, New Paltz, NY)
