Well, when I'm replacing the viscous coupler, guess I'll do that too since I'll be in there.

Kenk,
Hate to bring this up again but what about the electrical fans. You have spent more time posting questions then would have been necessary to just go out and check the dam fans.
Now if you want to correct this problem, get off your duff and check them. The fans must be running when the engine is at operating temp while doing stop and go driving and or when the the a/c is on.
Don't post another reply or throw any parts at the truck till you do this overly simple check.
Get back to us afterwards.

Mike,

I see you have said "fans". I have a 99 disco II and only have one electric fan. Is this correct?

D2 has one a D1 has 2, both work the same way though.

I have one fan working, one not. Bum fan.

Now I shoulda made it more clear when I said i would have to check them later, but I was at work whilst posting, in a hospital, on 12hr shifts. Can't just run out to the parking ramp to check. And unfortunatly, half a nurses work is spent at a computer charting.

And half the posts were over the low-temp t-stat issue( yes my fault, I put it in there)

One fan won't cut it. I would call around and find a used set, granted you may only need one but if one has failed, the other is not far behind it.
Try auto salvage yard for used Rover, not after market fans. Tou might also check with places like Roverlandparts.com or Auto cars limited, they both specialize in dismantling Rovers

Im going to get a used rover ones, I wont do a hack/splice with an aftermarket. Roverguy.com is where I usually get my used parts, Will almost always underprices Roverland.

And yes, the working one is noisey, so its on its way out
