battery discharge when left overnight.
2002 disco 2 that has no spark. I have two post with not start and 2002 disco no start.
Found out today that the shop has to charge the batt. when they look for codes the next day. didn't know this until today.
rover has no spark. changed CPS a few times. they want to change to camshaft sensor but they need to find why the battery is draining.
Any ideas where to look. It must have something to do with the no spark.

I ran into this issue all the time and actually last week on my Mercedes. One day it would be the seats the next it was the overhead console. What I did was I removed the neg terminal and put the one lead to the negative terminal and another to the ground cable I removed. I used a cheap harbor freight multimeter since I have like 30 of them. Switch it to amps on the 10amp selection. Make sure the doors are closed and nothings on if you need to open the doors make sure the car thinks it’s shut I forget on the rovers if there’s a door switch if not just flip the thing in the door as if it’s closed. If you look at the meter in the 10amp setting you should get .05 which is 50 mah which I’ve been told is a good spot to be at maybe give or take a bit but anything over 100mah would concern me. Start pulling fuses one by one and watch for the drop that should get it down pretty specific to what’s wrong. My example was the feature when you open the door the electronics for the seat turn on and move the steering wheel for you, that feature didn’t turn off when the car locked so it was in the ready state and drained it but pulling the seat module fuse made it drop

In the case of my truck and for several others, the cause of the parasitic drain was the self-leveling suspension (SLS) pump trying to work even though the original air springs had been replaced by coils.
If your truck originally had air springs and now has coils that may be the problem. You need a scanner capable of accessing the slabs computer to change the setting from air suspension to coils.

I have some vague memory of Michael Landon doing a TV commercial for the '66 Chevelle SS 396 but I couldn't find it on YouTube. I found only a 1963 commercial with him hawking a Corvair Monza Spyder. Not the same ...
