Default battery recommendations

Well, now I need a new battery for the Land Rover. I was wondering what do you people recommend. I am looking for a good quality battery but don't want to spend $160+ on a gel or glass mat battery.

Duralast Gold from AutoZone, 1000CA and 900CCA, 5 yr warranty with 3 yr replacement if defective.
I have one, it was like $90 when I bought it 4 years ago.
It is made right here in MI too by Johnson Controls.
Oh, and it was rated a Best Buy by Consumer Reports the year I bought it.

Spike do you happen to know the model number. I went to the Autozone website and none of the batteries listed for my truck have that many CCA's. I guess they feel that the battery that you have doesn't fit in your truck or mine. Another possibility is that they don't make that model anymore.

Man, you're going to make me go outside in my underware with a flashlight and write this down aren't you?

I can't believe you didn't know it by memory. So what did the single ladies on the block have to say. Thanks Spike.

Great, now everyone on this board including you is going to have me permanently banned. The battery only shows up on the Autozone website with the Disco I and not the Disco II. I am going to check the space just to be certain but I am pretty sure that it is going to fit.

Depends on your needs also.
Sears make one of the better 2 batteries out there in the Marine Battery line, I am still a big believer in my Yellow Tops if you are needing a deep cycle gel battery.

The DI and DII take the same battery.
As long as it fits size wise you can use any battery you want.
If it were a side terminal battery that would be different, but its not.
Walk into AutoZone, grab the battery you want off of the shelf, take it home and charge it.
Put it in your truck and return your old one for the core charge.
