Default Best Brake Pads for D2.

I don't care about the wear rate if its faster or anything, I'm just looking for the best brake pads for stopping power and traction control performance. I'm looking into doing a full brake system swap (pads, rotors, and extended SS brake lines). I was also wonder if anyone is running the TerraFirma drilled and slotted rotors, I might go for those, Justin from Lucky8 says he likes them (I saw on another forum post), would like some input :P

I've actually been keying into any conversation regarding the TF rotors, I know my friend has EBC and they are pretty damn good. I have relatively new generic rotors installed by the local LR dealership before the PO sold it to me, they work just fine, but I'm thinking about changing them out all the same. I know there is a guy on another forum who uses TF rotors with 35 inch tires and they seem to stop the car really well.

Yeah, I know Justin from lucky8 runs them on a D2 with 33's and a Defender with 35's and he says he has no problems with them, but not sure about the performance. I may just buy them and do a review on them for the forum, they're relatively cheap.

I put a set of Akebono pads (from Amazon) and EBC dimpled rotors from Atlantic British. I love this combination,, they feel so much better, they bit well on and off road and have the added bonus of not having to wash your wheels every week. We also tow a 4500lb trailer in the summer and the Akebonos worked beautifully. Off road they give a more controlled feel and on steep descents they bite and release with confidence. I have a stock 04 SE7 but they bridge the on and off road performance gap nicely.

That's the exact combo I have but it doesn't bite too well initially. I'm going to try cycling the abs circuits using the hdc and then bleed it again to see if it improves.

I'm running the Akebono's with Stoptech drilled / slotted rotors and they work great. I've had a noticeable improvement in stopping since installing the combo. I've had them in the mud plenty of times and have had no problems with them clogging or any of the other nonsense that people on here say about the D/S rotors...
