Best price on water pump?
i hear what you're saying about OEM pumps being better but $144 is a rip off for a simple part like a water pump in my opinion. I refuse to be ripped off.
I'm searching for a quality after market pump.

I have a brand new water pump I bought for my 02 discovery a few months back. It turns out I dont need it and would be glad to sell it along with the gasket for $70. Its still in the original box and packaging. It fits the following LAND ROVERS; DISCOVERY 1994-2004. OE PART # STC 4378
I had mine go out while out of town and I replaced it with one from Autozone. It is a Valucraft with a 1 year warranty and it was $150 with a $35 core charge. 20,000 miles later and all is good.
I just ordered mine from fap99.com for $53 and change. I always bought aftermarket for my Audi's but they don't have a big fan hanging off them.
After reading the posts here, I am going to give it a try anyway. They also have the Meyle pump for about $114 but I went cheap.
Also remember, not all aftermarket pumps are the same. Companies like Cardone do high quality rebuilds on many items. My cheapo is a "eurospare". I'll report if I have a failure in the future. I might also be putting on the electric fans anyway. In that case any water pump should do.
