Default Blue Tooth Stereo and connectivity options for 2004 Disco II

Hi, I'm a new 2004 Disco II owner so apologize if this question has been asked on the Forum before. I have a stock radio with tape and 6 CD player underneath the passenger seat. I'm trying to find out the best option to install a Bluetooth radio and or just have a Bluetooth adaptor to take calls from my iPhone. I've searched on YouTube and have seen many third party options and wanted to get some guidance or recommendations from Disco II owners.

Thanks in advance, Larry

Grom Audio has a Bluetooth adapter for the stock tuner that replaces the CD player with your android or iOS device. I love mine.

I dont own one, but like these because they're single din and the screen mount location is adjustable.
In the D2 the screen would mount towards the bottom like this L - should work

I've had the GROM Audio Bluetooth setup in my truck for seven or eight years and love it.

Grom +1

Maintains original appearance & works with steering wheel and headunit. I love it

Thanks for all the feed back. I looked on Grom's site and found this kit. Not sure how easy installation is...they have a bunch of videos but nothing for Disco series II examples. I'm assuming it connects behind the stock radio and feed it through the glove box. Did you find it easy to install? Thanks again.

I've historically had success with the Pioneer NEX series. They make a single DIN version with a motorized screen.

That said, that Joying looks very intriguing, and I'll probably pick one up just to see what it's like.

This head unit is 100% plug and play: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...iagrams-94358/
If you dont care about keeping the factory look then this is probably the easiest way to modernize the audio in the car.

I’ve posted it on here before, so you’ll have to dig for details, but I did a much more low tech version.
I spliced the sound out from the CD changer under the passenger seat and wired in a couple of ⅛ plugs into my centre console.
Then I just use a $10 Chinese Bluetooth unit.
Works wonders and cost me maybe $20.

To everyone with the GROM unit, what functionality is retained with this setup? Can the factory stereo buttons control play/pause, next track, etc? Can you set it up with both and AUX input and wireless Bluetooth?
