Question Brush Guard Question

I got my '03 HSE7, and I found a brush guard for $40 off a D1. Does anyone know if it will mount up will little mods? I hate the plastic bumper cover that I have because it is split in the center. So if anyone has an idea, let me know. Thanks.

If you hate plastic bumper covers, you will hate even more the old D1 brush guards that usually just rust and fall off.
If you want a brush gusrd look for one from an 03 or 04.

D1 will not fit D2, if you're buying D2 brush guard you need to buy a set of factory mounting brackets bolts to the A-Frame, and also buy brackets connect brush guard to the front bumper/fender.

The DI brush guard WILL fit the DII with slight modification.
There is a thread on here about it with pics, search for it.

And that's the answer the op was looking for. He did not ask if it was a direct fit he asked will it fit with some slight modification. Yes it will if your willing to put a little time and effort into it you can make it work.

Why does it have to be so hard to get a question answered on here without getting smashed with silly comments guys?

Read questions thoroughly then decide if you have the experience to correctly answer if not that's okay but these new owners turn to us to provide them with accurate answers not confuse them with a guess.

I didn't think I was guessing. I've had always heard a D1 brush guard would not fit a DII, thought it was something to do with the width of the bumpers being different. I stand corrected. Most people will say a 99-02 BGwill not fit an 03-04 but at least I got that right. I saw the thread with a guy that had that set up and it looks quite good.

I too thought they would not fit, I was told the frames were different widths.
The difference is the DII uses "crush cans" on the frame to mount the bumper, they are meant to be crushed in a accident, crumple zone kinda thing.
The DI does NOT have crush cans, the bumper bolts directly to the frame, the brush guard bolts directly to the frame using the same bolts as the bumper.
So on the DII you have to modify the DI brush guard to make it work, but it can be done.
