Burning handbrake cable

Default Burning handbrake cable

I have a burning smell from my handbrake cable and the plastic sleeve over the cable has melted, the engine wont start either...[:@]

Has anybody got any ideas please...?

Sounds like you have a serious short and I would suggest you disconnect your battery until someone can find and repair this problem otherwise your truck could catch fire.

It was the stereo that was shorting out, Ive took the unit out and it now starts, just need to free up my cable now..

Sounds like your HB cable became the best ground path for something that draws a lot of current. Better check engine block and frame grounds.

There is a ground bolt behind the battery which I have cleaned, is there any more and where can I find them please...?
