Buzzing noise behind dash (left side)
Hi,
I've been looking on the boards and can't find anyone else with this problem, so I'll post...
Every morning lately, I start up Rover and head to work...and there is a fairly loud buzz comming from behind the left side of the dash...to the left of the guages...sort of behind the vent area. Usually, when I get in for lunch...or on the way home, it is gone.
The auto climate control system is off when this happens...and I've tried it with the climate control on...no difference. I've even played with the power mirror switch to see if that was stuck or something...no luck.
I realize the fuse box area is under there...lower than where the noise comes from...but I get no clues from that area either...
Any help would be appreciated.

Check and make sure that your Hi-Lo shifter for your transfer case is all the way in Hi, there is a warning buzzer to remind you that it is in neutral.
If the t-case is in neutral and you put the transmission in park the truck will roll away.
So the next time it happens pull the t-case shifter all the way to Hi range.

Thanks...I've checked the transfer case, and it is fine.
The noise seems to be coming from around the fuse box area...could anything back there have a buzz to it... It actually went away today after about 10 minutes of driving.

The t-case wont buzz, all the buzzers are in/around the fuse panel.
Next time it does it open the fuse panel and find which buzzer is buzzing, it should be marked.

Hey, I've been meaning to ask this question myself. I can hear a buzzing that sounds like it's coming from either behind the speedometer, or just to the left of the cluster guage. I don't normally drive my truck (my wife does), but I don't remember ever hearing it before but recently I have. I was guessing that it MIGHT be the idle air control valve at the intake because that buzzes when the ignition is on (is that normal too?), but I'm not sure. I don't recall hearing it when driving but I may not have noticed. I'll see if I can look into it a bit more....
The flux capacitor is what makes time travel possible. Does it run on unleaded? No, no, keep rolling. This sucker is electrical. To generate the 1.21 gigaWatts of power it needs something with a little more kick... Plutonium!! When this baby hits 88 mph... You're gonna see some serious ****.
