You have to remove the interior panel covering the C pillar. The exterior C pillar trim is retained with three nuts per piece that have to be removed from the inside. Once you get the interior panel off, it is a cakewalk.

Default C-Pillar install

Hi, I need to replace the same thing. Does anyone know what it takes to remove the interior pillar to get to the nuts? Thanks

Kyle

At the bottom of the interior panel, there are some dime-sized retainers. These are actuallt screws. The head of the retainer cap opens (and probably falls off completely because the small piece of plastic holding the cap to the retainer breaks). There are also some "Christmas tree" style retainers at the top of the trim that just pull straight out. There is also a smaller "christmas tree" style retainer at the lower front of the panel (right near the 2nd row seat). Once all of the retainers are removed, the panel just prys loose from some clips behind it

anybody know what size nut is on that threaded t screw that holds on the C trim pillar? I've put everything from metric and standard starting with 3/16" but can't seem to find the right socket and you can't really get to it since it's inside the body panel.

I just did this a couple of weeks ago. It is a 6pt. 9/32 socket. Get a couple of them. I dropped one inside the panel and it disappeared. Good luck. JEFIII
