Can I get a name change please?
Well, I am officially not "Rover Curious" anymore. As of Friday, I am now the proud owner of a 2003 Discovery Series II SE in Oslo Blue withbeige leather interior. I'll be posting pics pretty soon, just as soon as I get a chance to take some. Just in case you happen to live in Atlanta and get the urge for something Land Rover related, pay a visit to Hennessey Land Rover inGwinnett. I got a fantastic deal on this truck, andI dealt directly with David Boswell, the Sales Manager, and he paid just as much attention to me as he paid to the lady in the next room buying a $100000 Range Rover. Definitely five stars in my book.

RE: Can I get a name change please?
I really didn't expect to buy from them, cuz they are a true Land Rover dealership and I figured they would be way out of my budget. I was looking to spend less than $7k. I test drove a '99 with 144k+ miles asking $5k and a '99 with 122k+ asking $6k. I just went to the dealership because the Sales Manager had been so courteous in our e-mail exchanges that I wanted to pay back the courtesy by at least visiting and looking at the truck. They had it priced at $7995 + tax, tag, and title. I paid less than $7k all told. It has a few idiosyncrasies, but nothing that I can't handle. The VIN falls into the range for the possible oil pump issue, but it already has 110k on the original motor, so I should hopefully be ok. I don't drive like a bat out of hell, so I won't be over stressing the motor any time soon. The previous owner fitted it with the '03-04 polyurethane front guard and a set of Hella Black Magics about 2 weeks before he traded it in. His loss, my gain. It also has the 18" Hurricane wheels and almost brand new Michelins, but they are primarily a road tire, so they'll be changed just as soon as they wear out.

Congrats on your great deal.... Just imagine how the guy who traded it in must feel... I'll bet he really took a huge hit in the wallet.
Don't worry about the oil pump thing. From my experience and from what my dealer told me, if you've got that many miles on it then you're past the real danger zone.
