Default Car seat latch system

Hi everyone,
Im wanting to purchase a 2004 se7 to replace my Wrangler that we just sold as its not quite the family vehicle and in my 2002 wrangler, they did not have the car seat latch system in it. My question is, does a 2004 disco have the latch system? It should be two metal bars that would be located inside the seat between the back rest and the seat part. I appreciate the help!

Here is what the 2004 owner's manual says about child safety seats. It does appear to have "LATCH"

Yes, your '04 should have 'LATCH'. My '03 does. It's been awhile since I've had a car seat in it. They were fairly easy to get to, but only on the outside seats, the middle position doesn't have it and the rear jump seats don't have it. I think LATCH was mandated in 2003.

I have little metal brackets at the bottom of the rear seat backs.

Here's a picture of the bracket on the passenger side. I also serves as a home for stale french fries, random M&Ms, and the occasional Happy Meal toy.

My 2001 does but not my 1999 D2. I think it started in 2001? One way you could find out is look at some 2000's for sale online and check the upper interior trim piece above the cargo door. You should see a cutout dead center where the center seat tether would go all the way up there. Make sense? That one way back there is for the middle position to have a tether strap. The outside seats use the bar on the back of the seat.

Our '95 Volvo did not have the LATCH system when we bought it a few years ago, the dealer installed it for free.
All I had to do was ask.
