Correct... they believed that with the aid of TC the CDL wouldn't be needed. They also understood that many Americans didn't understand how/when to use it.


They were wrong...

If you want to go with a DI CDL, I have one and can even include the hi/lo cover for simplifying the install. The linkage works like a charm.

$175 including shipping in the US.

Is the reason that Hill Decent will not work properly with the CDL engaged?

I am sure they thought about this very carefully and had arguments about it at Rover in England.
This came about when BMW owned Rover and they were adding the ETC. They used up the old inventory of the CDL case in late 01, switching to the less expensive non-CDL case and after lots of grief added it back with the 04.
Also, the CDL has no effect on the Hill Decent, cause you are not under power when the Hill Decent is working.
