CLD Question

When i Engage the CLD the light does not come on as the manual says it should. I know the CLD engages as i have used it and it works like a charm, but still no light. IS this just a bad bulb or is it an indicator of something worse coming my way.

Thanks in advance

edit: cdl

CDL center locking differential

How do you know it is engaging? I highly doubt the bulb is burnt out since they use LED's in the DII's instrument cluster.

Either it is not engaged all the way or the BCU is not reading that it is engaged.

i went out this afternoon and did a few runs on the outskirts of Mesa, but nothing major. I engaged it and crawled up a few small hills, but maybe it wasn't in although the difference in climbing was felt instantly. Other than dropping the trans into N and shifting the shifter into low and left what else would have to be done to engage it.

As always thanks in advance.

You can also go right and then forward to engage lo-locked.
Here is what you need to do, in your drive way engage the CDL and then jack up one wheel of the truck and try to spin it, if it does not move then you are locked, if you can spin it a full turn it is not locked.
If it is locked but the light is not coming on then it could just be a bad/dirty sensor on the t-case.

If your CDL is working, then either the t/case switch is stuck or has failed.
