Default Coolant leak/ Expansion cap?

I had a massive coolant leak a few months ago. Stealership wanted to replace the works for $5000 on an 02 disco with 60k on the odo. I took it to a recommended mechanic who charged me $750 to replace intake manifold gasket which they claimed as the culprit. So vehicle was fine for about 2 months but I noticed the waterfall sound return, followed by heater blowing cold, followed by the temp overheating. Ive had it back to them 2x to see if they can find a leak and they seem to think the problem is the little black tube running out of the expansion tank. They say that pressure is building up in the tank because the cap isnt holding the 50lb of pressure and is blowing out the black tube. They recommend me purchase a new cap and try it. To their credit I have not been able to catch even a drip come out of the vehicle while idling, but Its been inconvenient as hell to keep returning the vehicle and I cant tell if they are being too lazy to complete the correct fix or if they are truly out of ideas and cannot find any leaks. Any ideas?

stop driving until you find the leak or you will overheat and screw the engine... clean everything up and inspect the engine while its running and find the leak. if necessary put some coolant dye in it to help you find the leak. what did the stealership want to do for 5k? head gaskets, valley pan and such?

The cooling system is not under 50psi, it is 15psi.

Replace the cap, its like $15 and then you can rule that out.

You have a "FOOL" for a mechanic, stop going to him, stop driving it before you toast it and send me your tele number so I can walk you thru what to have checked and how.

Damn you, I was going to fix my turn signals today but now I have to wait a week because I just used my PayPal and ordered 2 new bulb holders for my truck and saved $5 plus the gas to drive across town to the dealer and back.
So I probably saved a total of $10.

2 bulb holders from AB with shipping, $17. (FedEx)
2 bulb holders from the dealer, $16. (me)
2 bulb holders from Rovahfarm, $12 with shipping. (USPS)
