Default Coolant Leak Top of Radiator

I have a leak where one of the screws (that screws into the top of the radiator) holds the fan cowling on the top of the radiator. I tried using a bigger screw, but no good. Anything I can use to seal this screw in? I just can't believe I would have to replace an entire radiator for one screw hole. Why in the hell would someone screw a hole in a radiator just to hold a cowling on anyway?

Time for a new radiator, the plastic is way to brittle from age and heat and it is semi-plugged up.
Get a new radiator, t/stat, coolant pressure cap and switch over to the green stuff.

Default Coolant Leak

That's what I was afraid of. I can't imagine how long this will take over a screw. Obviously, I still don't want to accept it. I just looked at bputah.com and it doesn't show the cowling with the radiator. Am I going to have to drill into a brand new radiator for the cowling? There is no way I would feel comfortable doing that.

Another wonderful design from Land Rover. It is very common for the radiators to leak from that screw hole. You don't have to drill anything, they already come with pre-drilled holes. You just use your cowling.

unfortunately, mike, the one i bought from one of your sources was incorrect and I had to buy a new one. he didn't ask me and I didn't know. shipping made it not worthwhile to send it back. it could not be modified. it's garage art now.

My radiator has that problem too.
Put on some Permatex non hardening sealer all over the threads of the screw and onto the bottom of the plastic cowling and onto the screw head.
Put it back in snuggly but not too tight.

if that fails, get a piece of innertube rubber or similar.
Put that on the bottom of the cowling and in contact with the radiator.
Like a donut.

Put permatex non hardening sealer over it.

There is no F***ing way I am replacing my radiator for this stupid leak.
