I just picked up a 95' D1 for 1100. It has a glovebox full of recipts form about the passed 5 years. runs pretty good but the electrical system is a total mess. Rear windows will not roll down,click anything. Wipers will only function when you play with the rear fog lamp switch and head light switch. a/c system is totaly inop but the blower and fresh air exchange works. the a/c is fully charged as well. The rear foglamps stay on anytime the park lamps are on. the cruise system is also dead. the central locking system is dead too.


Im mainly asking for the main lines to check. where are the main relay boards located in these cars? Do they have any points in the harness that they can get pinched or cut easily? I have read that the power windows are controlled by a computer. Is it possible for it to just shutdown the back two windows but the fronts work perfectly?
Do these cars run a dual leg from the ignition switch?

Other than the messy electrical problem It runs great and has a fairly new transmission. I spent a good afternoon yesterday searching and installing a new birfield in it after the P/0 drove it around with the diff lock engauged.
The transmission was rebuilt 20K ago as well as the T-case being replaced. The front brake system was overhauled 30K ago. Theres numerous other things that was done but I am damn happy with the bucket.

 

There is a window lift ecu behind the dash, it cracks at the solder joints and then the rear windows wont work.

The cruise not working is most likly a vacuum leak. Check all the cruise vacuum lines for cracks, replace as needed.
The drivers door lock controls all the other locks too. Replace the drivers door lock actuator and then see if the rest work.

Fixed the window lift control. a little solder and some corrosion removal worked. Vacuum line to the booster for the cruise was split. fixed that but still no cruise. I narrowed the horn down to the clockspring in the column, i assume its also causing the cruise to be dead. I found some form of cheapo alarm system that someone hacked into the harnesses that was also removed. I found the a/c compressor relay and triggered it, a/c works pretty nice..Now to pull out the hvac controls and wire it properly. I put the mcu into its diagnostic mode and had no beep from the rear fog lamp switch nor the rear wiper switch..Something tells me there is a nasty connection on the mcu.

Hi can anyone help locating a RAVE manual on CD for a series one Disco 300tdi circa 1995. I have one but it will only work on a windows95 OS, I need one that will run on either Windows 2000 of XP.
The one I have is totally different from the down load link, the one I would like to update is the one that has even the job timings and exploded sections on it!

With regard to the Rear Window problem any chance you can walk me through the fix please.
