Default D1 Interior Color

I was talking to a guy today that is a bigger Rover fanatic than I am. In the course of our conversation he mentioned that my LSE has a lighter tan leather interior than an SE model. According to this guy LSE means light stone edition. The only D1 SEs that I have seen have all had gray interiors from what I recall.

If anyone with an D1 SE (especially a 97) would be kind enough to post a picture of the interior so I can see the color of the seats I would appreciate it. I have been trying to figure out the difference between an SE and my LSE and I may have just been given the answer.

This is the color of my interior

It looks identical to mine from what I can tell. I guess my confusion about the different trim levels continues.

I know for 98 the LSE got the chrome bumpers but my 97 has black bumpers (which I prefer anyway). I'm thinking there is something we're missing since the guy I talked to today knew mine was an LSE just by looking at the color of the rear seat. He was looking in the back at the dog guard I have and as soon as he looked at the color of the leather he looked at me and asked if it was an LSE. I don't know what he saw that I'm missing but he was right.

I don't understand the confusion. Look closer at the leather on the SE. It is perforated in areas where on the LSE it is not. The LSE also has a dark tan tubing around it. It's a different shade - lighter. The leather is not the same. My doors are different from yours AK. I doubt very much LSE stands for Light Stone Edition. This has been discussed on this forum before but I'm too lazy to search for it. All I know is my LSE is loaded with everything they offered, from the wood trim to the rear a/c and everything in between the chrome bumpers.

I prefer "Loaded Somthin' Extreme".

98 I think the LSE package got bigger to really separate them from an SE. 98 is when they started the chrome bumpers on the LSE. Good catch on the perforation and the piping. I think I noticed the perforation in Spike's but at the time was focusing on the color so I just ignored it. My 97 LSE does not have the rear A/C which is fine considering I only once in a blue moon have someone ride in the back seat. I doubt that the LSE really means light stone edition also but that is what I was told.

I like your door panels better than mine. My panels look exactly the same as Spike's. But my mat in the cargo area has LSE embroidered on it.

Those are seat back protectors, you can buy them at Babies R Us, we have them in both cars to keep the kids dirty shoes off the backs of the seats.
They are $20 for the pair.
