Well, it looks like mullosc confirmed what I though in our exchange on eBay. The DII did not have the horn in the US. I know the GEMS P38a had the horn for the alarm but, again, I don't remember seeing them on Bosch P38a's. On your DII I'm pretty sure the alarm is sounded through the front horns behind the grille.

The truck luckyjayb has is a 2000 so I'm surprised it doesn't have the blanking plate in both locations. That said, it should be easy (famous last words?) to pop out the blanking plate he does have and confirm the connector is there.
My truck is a '99 but somewhere along the way I picked up a sales brochure for the 2000 model year. Unfortunately none of the pics show the locations where the sensors are in my truck. I have owner's manuals for both '99 and 2000 and on page 13 both say "Interior space protection (if fitted)."
Both also go on to say interior space protection is activated (and deactivated) with the keyless entry remote handset. Locking the truck using the key in the door handle does not activate interior space protection, nor, importantly, unlocking with the key in the door after it's been locked using the remote handset does not disable interior space protection.
