Default Decayed foam above blower motor

Removed blower motor to chase down yet another water leak and there were leaves and a dead bug in the fan cage causing a racket.

Anyway, what's this foam above the motor? Is it replaceable ? Should I scrape it all off?

Mine is falling apart down into the fan motor below, and if you touch it, disintegrates. (pics are looking up into the area above the ventilation fan motor)

It’s not replaceable as far as I am aware. I just vacuumed up as much as I could.

Here are some better pictures of a blower assembly I removed from a parts truck. The doors are metal with a layer of foam.
