I bought it to save my own. If someone wants to
throw me a “must sell” offer I’m all ears.

If only the HG is bad I'd keep the whole truck especially if it is near mint. Just redo the HG's or the entire engine if need be.
I totally would not cannibalize this truck if it's at all like you say.
Values on near mint trucks are finally going up... I vote to rescue it.

it is near perfect condition, no rust. It starts and runs. I’m definitely going to take the front bumper for my truck but I’ll leave the rest alone...for a reasonable amount of time. I’ll have it for sale, clean title soon.

Thank you. I forgot to say, welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately I'm on the other side of the country from you, but otherwise I'd be all over buying the truck from you.
I know you're already accepting what we're saying, but think of it like a rescue dog. We don't want to see pets put down if there's a reasonable way to give them a good life, right? Same with a Rover. Nice DIIs are getting more and more difficult to find. Heck, around here I'm not even seeing crappy ones.
I wonder what it would cost to have a DII shipped from Ferndale to Charlotte?
Dave03S is in Seattle. Maybe he's your guy.

We are sort of spoiled around here with a regular supply of crappy and nice D2's on CL and the other online options I usually don't partake in.
Part of that is that there are a few good indy shops in both Seattle and Portland. Not that we don't have our share of **** polisher places who think because you drive a Rover your pockets are big enough to write a few alimony checks and a boat payment.
I like the rescue dog analogy... However, sorry to say, no room for more dogs right now... even minty ones.
A lot of folks won't mind the missing bumper as they might just add a steel one anyway.
Or you buy the steel bumper for it, do the HG's, Double or triple your money for the win!
