Default Diamond Plating on a Discovery

Does anyone know of pictures of this diamond plating kit installed on a Discovery?

https://bearmach.com/lower-panel-bla...icles-ba-4068b

I emailed Bearmatch and they said its made from 5 bar 2mm aluminum plate. It comes in black or silver.

Over here in England I’ve seen the plating more on the Defenders and Disco 1s than 2s but it can be done.

They even offer plating for the hood (bonnet): https://bearmach.com/catalogsearch/r...Plate&model=66

Someone must have installed these before. I'm betting it would look pretty sweet.

I've seen a few photos on Instagram of diamond plate on d2s, more the hood than anything else. If diamond plate is your thing then go for it, personally I'm not a fan (I'm sure I've done things that people don't like to mine). Black plating on a black d2 could be a subtle addition, should be a simple install if no body panels have been trimmed. For me it wouldn't be worth the time to cut them all down to fit and would only add to the complications for when my front doors get crunched when my rock sliders inevitably get pushed up into them (just saw someone who built some super beefy ones that weld into the frame that I need to see about changing mine up some).

Found a few pictures. It's hard to see the side plating in the last one.

Yes I have it it on my Discovery and have just gotten around to installing it on the passenger side. The powder coat they use is worthless and will peel off in 2-3 months. But the diamond plate is solid. I just spray mine out with Rustolium truck bed liner and its bullet proof. you have have to remove the plastic door guards to install it, but they can be put back on just an inch higher.

Ooof. Now that's NOT a way to sell the look.
