Default Differential lock warning lamp

Hello, I have Yr2000 DiscoveryII
I was wiring trailer then did stupid mistake.
Tail light fuse blown but after put new fuse now I see 'differential lock warning lamp' turns on when I step on brake which locks the transmission lever. No brake light on rear either.
I had to go some place so removed ****/cover to engage lever manually and drove (all seems ok except no brake light) but because of safety I parked now.
Can someone please help on this. Thanks.

You need a new brake light switch. Not sure if you can get one locally at a auto parts store or not. You can get one from the dealer. Or you can get one from www.atlanticbritish.com.
Not sure why your warning lamp is coming on, but replace the brake light switch and you shouldbe good to go.

It sounds as if there is a redundancy though that particular warning system. Sorry I can't be more specific at the moment, I am not able to find my rave cd at the moment. As Spike said you will need to repair the fault to you brake lights so that they will cease to sink the voltage from your other warning lights and also supply the voltage necessary to operate you stop lamps. Good luck to you. Pleas do keep us informed.

thanks for post but brake switch works fine as I press it shows differential warning lights. If I don't press brake no differential warning comes on. I did try using new one though. No luck.
When I look into Rave, differential warning signals from SLABS which triggered by brake switch when I press....
I checked all fuse, inside under driver and uder hood, all seems ok now.

No lioghts are supposed to come on on the dash when you press the brake pedal.
Did you replace the brake light switch?

yes I bought new brake light switch from dealer and replaced.
But same issue, just 'differential warning' on, transmission lever stuck, no brake light rear.

Ok, I was afraid of that. You shorted something out. You need to go back and find out where you shorted the brakes with your trailer wiring when you tried to hook it up.
You didnt know this I'm sure, but they make a "plug-N-play" trailerwiring kit, you plug it into the wiring harness on the truck and you are good to go.
You need to find out what you did wrong.
