That is truly a red neck tow truck. And thats what those guys do, take a old truck, lift it and make it look cool but it really isint worth crap.
Now had he used sand ladders and the winch probally could have done it.
I have seen the cable on a tow truck snap, it aint pretty. SHattered the rear window on the tow truck and almost took the guys head off.
Mythbusters did a thing on the cable cutting you in two, they say it couldnt happen, I'm not going to try it. ALWAYS put something on the cable, like a towel, coat, vest, something so that if it does break it will just fall to the ground.

This is what I am talking about but a jacket will work too.

lol. been there, done that..

All you needed to do was get a shovel and move the dirt our from your axles and tires. She would have came out on the first tug.

You were just pushing dirt ect.

Crazy video.

My father in law was once pulling someone out of a snowy ditch with an F250 he had, while using a tow strap with metal hooks on each end.

During a "tug", the hook on the car frame he was pulling broke, and his tow strap came flying forward.

It went THROUGH the forward wall of the box (tailgate was down), THROUGH the rear of the cab, and punctured a beer keg that was in the back seat of the extended cab.

He said he heard "THUD", then "Spshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and the cab quickly filled up with the smell of beer.

Exactly why you should use rated shackles and tow strops, GOOD strong dedicated recovery points (not factory tow points) and stand clear when a vehicle is being recovered

ORIGINAL: sailorcolin

it was completely dug out. The problem comes when the ground is sand and everything you dug out just filled back in but at the end of the video when i get out seconds before i out pulled out we were digging the axles out. Fix Or Repair Daily=FORD
Were you running lower pressure in your tires? Down to 20 would do wonders, but some run lower.

Also, you might have tried this, so please ignore if you did, but next time, when you dig out, build the road underneath the tires with anything you can find. Brush, reeds, rocks, whatever. Keep the sand/mud from going back in there.
