disco 2 fire under glove box...

Replacing the blower motor, on the FIRST try for a non-mechanic with basic household tools, takes about 30 minutes. You can get the motor for well under a hundred dollars on ebay; here is one for 28 bucks with free shipping. Here is a resistor for 60 dollars (I don't know anything about resistors). Also, there is a mod somewhere in the forums for using a new blower motor for another vehicle... I can't recall which (maybe a ford, I don't remember) that costs 80 dollars new at Autozone (I bought one then my motor decided to behave so I took it back).
A thousand seems a little/LOT high, but they also have some time in the diagnosis... still doesn't add up that high.
I think the high quote is because a NEW land rover disco blower motor is about 400 bucks and the resister is close to 200. If you want new, OEM, the quote might not be so bad after all.

motor bad... need some advice
okay... I've been told my engine is done...
a few cylinders have low compression.
Of course it rides like ****... but it drives,
i cant afford a new engine right now.
The rover mechanic said he can drain my oil, put something else in it (some fluid that goes somewhere else) drain that... put the oil back in change plugs... he said this would add some compression and quiet it down it wont completely solve the problem but it would make it better.
id like to add the truck is NOT overheating, just a bit of oil leak
Is there any mechanics that can understand what I'm referring to.
is this a good I idea..?
will this make it worse...?
He said it wont make it worse... like i said it, it drives, even on the highway just shakes til it gets warmed and it smooths out on the highway.
...any advice at all please?
the spark plug he pullled out had oil gunk on it...
any advice please

i didn't get the exact cylinder numbers....
I got a compression test done 6 months ago one of my cylinders were at 50...
I was unsure because it drives still (like **** though)
so i got it done again... this new mechanic says I have several bad cylinders then I asked him is there any temporary alternatives... he proposed what i posted.
what do you think about it... that pic was a plug that was pulled out

okay... its been running like that with that disgusting spark plug.
wanna make sure i understand you correctly, if I put new plugs in it, will it have pre ignition misfire? someone said flush pvc or something.
It starts and runs no smoke, no over heating... just a bit of an oil leak.
