Default Disco 2 Turn Indicator Problem

Disco 2 1999 Td5 turn indicators first right and then left failed. Replaced relays in passenger compartment fuse box Part no YWB10004L and problem fixed until right turn fail again. Second right turn relay replaced and problem fixed for about 12 months then both relays fail to operate again within a few days of each other. New relays resolve problem. Checking supposedly failed relays the coil resistance is in line with manufacturers spec sheet and if relays are connected to a 12v source they can be heard clicking and making contacts but do not work when in vehicle.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems or have any ideas what may be the cause?

Searching web found an article describing how indicators are controlled by BCU and rely upon on a good earth path so plan to check earth connections. What does an earth header look like and does anyone know where earth headers 0286 (K109) and 0018 (K108) are located on the vehicle?

Any help much appreciated.
