Default Dodgy shifter

After reading about the XYZ switch, and other related problems, I think I may be hypersensitive. When I go from Park to Reverse, there is what I can only describe as a hitch or slight sticking where it feels like the shifter is in reverse, but it is not actually. It needs to come back another centimetre or so to get into reverse. Is that the xyz switch or other potential problem?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Probably just needs the cable adjusted. You can adjust it on the arm that comes down from the xyz swith. Adjust the tension in the cable until it lines up properly when you shift, a lot easier with two people.
