This is local to me and no idea if my wife would even consider the idea, but if its cheap, then its cheap...
Of course "mechanical" could mean all sorts of things but if its Run and Drive then we know it cranks and runs.....

I'll be checking the bid price around 930am monday.
I'de love to know what the frame looks like, if there's no rust, I would buy it if the price stays low.
I need a D2 with a good frame.

I would love to go look at it, but its been pouring rain all day here, like flooding.
And I leave for CA tomorrow for work and fly back Monday morning.
Should be able to watch it on the plane... lol

1 of 150 ever made. LR special vehicle. Safarigard rocker guards, special interior, Borrego Yellow exterior paint. Mechanically the same as any other 02.

Some people bash LR special vehicles & I think it’s because they’re so rare & they don’t have one lol. However 1 of 150 does make it indeed VERY rare. To any LR nut = worth it’s weight in gold. To a LR newbie or someone not interested in LR’s unique special vehicles it’s just a yellow paint job.

I’ve owned 3 Yellow LR Special Vehicles 97 P38 Vitesse in AA Yellow, 02 Kalahari in Borrego Yellow, and my 97 D1 XD in AA Yellow & I absolutely love them!

I’d grab it ASAP as just the one of a kind limited Safarigard Rockers are worth $$$$. The wheels were only offered on one other D2 which was the LE model. The interior is very rare so if the thing was a rust bucket with a totally ruined engine just the rare parts = $$$$ parted out.

I checked it out, and you have to pay a broker to bid on it for you, unless you have a business license.
Who knows what the final cost will be.
I'de have to rent a car trailer or dolly for the 9 hour round trip.
Too much for spur of the moment for me right now.
But I sure would like to put my 04 engine/transmission in that....

It's 95 miles from me, and as Sixpack said you have to have a dealer license or use a broker to bid in SC. Not so in NC; anyone can by from an auction here.

I just hope it goes to someone who'll preserve/restore it and not to a salvage yard where it would end up crushed.

The roof rack is missing, unfortunately.

Best, are there other things on your Kalahari that are not on this truck?

NICE Kalahari! I don't see any rust on the throttle/cruise cable mount which is a pretty good indicator of rust elsewhere. Paint looks good too. looks like your could join maybe with an LLC? and bid through the bid provider, or find a dealer buddy to purchase it for you......There is also an 01 in IL with the tweed n brown interior. Love that combo.....

Good find. I have a SC business license and will be buying that. Have to go to SC on the 14th anyway.
