That is true about cheap. Reason being that that will break sooner than 60k miles and it might break in the most undesirable moment. A pin hole leak on top can last you weeks or months without a danger of over heating. And, if the hole gets larger, you can always get one of the screws from your tail lights and force its way in to the hole. If that nipple breaks, you will loose pressurized coolant fast and can leave you stranded. Reinforcing a weak part is not a bad idea. So then I could buy it cheap and immediately do the hack. I can only attest to my experience which occurred 5 times and one of them was during a holiday trip far way from home where stores were closed. It can cause immediate overheating where you cant even notice steaming unlike broken radiator hoses. Really, for me its not that its cheap, it just because that nipple breaks all the time and I strongly believe it could and will happen to anyone.
