Door Actuator Pin / Broken Key Lock
Ive been dealing with a bad actuator lately as it only locks but doesn't unlock. Today as I used my door key to unlock I felt a strange pop and knew instantly something went bad. After battling to get the door panel off and actuator removed I found the culprit. A broken door lock pin! After searching here on the forum it seems to be a common problem.
Looks like I need one of these: https://www.roverparts.com/Parts/LRD2-DOORPIN Im going to try and take apart/fix the current actuator since I have nothing to loose now. Anyone know a good thread on how to open up this door actuator? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/landrov...ef7324810a.jpg |
@abran makes the same part and has a thread on how to replace it. Shoot him a PM or search for it -- i have one of his pins and it is most excellent.

here's abran's (hint: BUY THIS ONE)
https://carrs4x4.com/collections/dis...etime-warranty and he has an installation guide at https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/00...88780856016786 |
It's Abran's pin that AB is selling. Rovers North too.

@abran Any chance this will work on a D1 as well? I have the same issue on my '97.

Not that I am aware of. I believe you have a different issue. It’s been a while since I had a D1 handle off, but I believe it’s a different system. |
