Default Door problem

Hi Guys, my right rear door wont open from the inside and out.
Inside because its in child proof setting.
Outside I have no idea why.
Please advise.

that is quite a dilema you got yourself into... only thing i can think to do is pull the interior panel off and try to get the door open from the inside... there should be small metal wire type deals connected to the latch slightly larger in diameter than a metal coat hanger... one connected to the interior handle and a seperate mechanism for the exterior handle... pulling or pushing on these one way or the other should get you some type of result...

you should actually be able to flip the child lock switch from inside the door

Try holding the door lock up from the inside while trying to open it from the outside.

If this works, you need a little spring on the door lock mechanism. Here is a 3 door set, you can get them individually or for all 5 doors..

When you remove your door panel, I recommend you go to the parts store and buy the panel removal tool. The fasteners that hold the panel to the door will be hard and brittle and if you use a screwdriver you could damage the panel.

yeah and if at all possible scoop up a few extra fasteners too...

When was the last time you lubed the cargo doors latch?
Before you tear into anything pop the LR emblem off the door handle.
Spray your favorite lube all around and up inside there, keep trying to open the door while you are doing this.
Silicon spray is the best to use because it does not attract dirt.
99% of the time this is why the door wont open, all the road grime and dirt collects in the handle and it siezes.
Once you get it open turn off your child door lock.

OOOOHHHHH!!! Thats my A.D.D. kicking in, anything over a sentence or two and I loose focus, my mom had a Focus, I'm not a Ford fan but it was a good car.
The fuel pump went bad and then the price of gas went up so they sold their truck and bought a Hybrid Escape to Africa, not a bad movie, I think Africa would be a long drive, not as long as Alaska, Alaska is not that big and I cant wait to drive there but with my Disco died in the '70's, I like the BeeGee's, I had a toy BeeGee's guitar when I was a kid, I used to bug the hell out of my parents when I thought that I was a rock star its raining so you cant see any tonight I didnt realize that it was his passenger door and not his cargo door, my bad.

Freaking Funny! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

My driver's side rear door did the same thing...a little grease to the hinges and all was good
