Hey guys, I just ordered a replacement door seal for the driver's door on my 1998 D1. Mine was torn in spots.

I've only looked at it briefly, but I'm unsure as to how the old one comes off. It seems to just be stuck on with adhesive or mounting tape. There is nothing of the kind on the new seal, though. The existing seal doesn't appear to be held on by the trim in anyway.

I've searched the forum, but I haven't found a post that details how to remove the old trim and install the new one. Does anyone have any suggestions.

The black part will separate from the colored trim. The colored trim is rolled onto an edge on the metal and will pull off. Not sure if you got both parts or just the rubber, but the rubber will pull off. You can find trim adhesive at your local auto parts store to glue the new waether stripping on. I used some to glue parts on mine that were coming loose.
