Default Double cardon proper articulation?

So i just did my prop shaft rebuild (thanks again to those who helped me find that rubber bit) but now ive got it all back together im intruiged. Rotating the shaft around the cardon joint, it feels nice and smooth. But the shaft wont cross directly over the double cardon joint. Is this its normal path of travel? Or is it supposed to be free to travel anywhere? I appreciate the input in advance, thanks.

I'm curious to hear the answer on this too. I just did my props haft about a week ago and noticed the same movement that the OP describes that I'm not sure was there before I rebuilt it. FWIW, I put mine back on the truck and have driven about 500 miles without incident.

I may be mistaken but I seem to recall minor had free movement everywhere

Do you know where to find that rubber bit still? I cannot find anywhere for the life of me - it seems as though it is nonexistent.
